Frequently asked questions
What are the candles made out of?
Non-toxic coconut & apricot wax, all natural cotton wicks, clean and non toxic fragrances and ceramic vessels.
We believe in having our homes smell gorgeous without extra toxins!
These aren’t your typical Yankee candle paraffin wax candles that don’t melt well and throw toxins into your environment.
WHY IS MY CANDLE TUNNELING?
Here are a few different reasons why your candle could tunnel:
Having a draft near where the candle is burning, like an air vent or fan. This
Not burning the candle until it reaches a full melt pool (melted wax across the entire candle surface)
How can I fix my candle after it tunnels?
First make sure the candle is moved to a space that isn’t near a draft.
grab a piece of foil and wrap it around the top of the candle while leaving a couple inch wide hole at the top to allow some heat to escape. You can do this while the candle is lit or light the candle through the hole of foil.
This creates more heat to warm the edges to allow them to melt properly.
Why is the label crooked or the wax isn’t as high as another candle iv'e ordered?
Two Pines Candles is a 1 woman show! I place every label by hand and i’m human so I do make errors occasionally, I apologize for any labels that look slightly off center..
Sometimes it seems like the wax levels differ from candle to candle, this is due to the vessel diameter. Some vessels vary slightly in their inside diameter sizes, which is an issue from the manufacturer.
we do ensure that every single candle regardless of slight size differences has a minimum of 12oz of wax.
What can I do to properly care for my candles?
Always place lit candles on a flat stable surface away from drafts and away from anything flammable.
Always trim your wick to 1/4 inch prior to relighting your candle
.Allow the candle to get a full melt pool to the vessel edges. This will prevent tunneling.
Never leave a burning candle unattended
Avoid burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time, if you wish to burn the candle longer you can extinguish the candle and let the top cool, then trim the wick to 1/4 inch and relight.
Keep candles out of reach of children and animals.
